Wat makes Obvius so much fuN?

The Delft Students Tennis Association Obvius (D.S.T.V. Obvius) has been one of the biggest students sports associations in Delft for 13 years now. Obvius has more than 450 enthusiastic members.

Ofcourse our priority is tennis. Trainings, both for beginners as well as for more advanced tennis players, are given two or three days a week by experienced trainers, and members of all levels enjoy competition in the weekends. It is this broad range of that makes Obvius so popular: we offer a spot for both beginners as well as advanced players. This year we play with a 2nd and a 3rd class men’s team and one 4th class mixed team in the sunday competition! Competition is also played on saturdays, by players of all levels.

Aside from this we organize different activities throughout the year. One highlight is our own Open Tournament in June, which attracts not only our own members, but a variety of tennis players from around Delft as well. Throughout the year we also visit tournaments organized by other student tennis associations. Aside from these tennis activities, we also organize other fun activities. Every month we have drinks in café De Sjees on the market square, at the end of the calender year we organize our own open party named Smashed and in June we celebrate the anniversary of Obvius. We also visit big tournaments such as Roland Garros, the Davis Cup, Dutch Student Championship and organize a wintersports holiday in february. Once a year we also organize the ‘Greenparty’ together with 5 other student sports associations in Delft. Many of these activities are organized by a variety of committees. In conclusion: Obvius is more than just a tennis associations! Obvius is an open organization and all activities can be visited freely. Membership is only 30 euros per year. Whether you want to continue tennis during you studies or just start playing: Obvius is the right place for you!
